Travel center giant Buc-ee's is slated to start building its latest mammoth outpost in Brunswick, Georgia. The ground is set to be broken for the new location at the end of January. Fans of the brand can expect their characteristic array of snacks, including favorites like Beaver Nuggets and hot brisket sandwiches, according to FOX 5 Atlanta.
The new Buc-ee's will sprawl across 74,000 square feet and will feature a hefty 120 fueling positions, strategically placed to serve travelers on Interstate 95 and State Highway 99. The announcement was made yesterday, alongside revelations that this will be the third location in Georgia, expected to provide over 200 full-time jobs. It will be located at 7156 Highway 99, a junction that offers a quick detour for those cruising along the interstate.
Stan Beard, Buc-ee's director of real estate, expressed excitement about the expansion, telling FOX 5 Atlanta, "Brunswick is a natural stop between our Florida and South Carolina locations on a stretch of interstate near the beautiful Georgia coastline. The community has welcomed us with open arms, and we are excited to finally get started here."
Buc-ee's, the Texas-based travel center chain, has seen significant growth since its first store opened in 1982 in Clute, Texas. After branching out with its first travel center in Luling, Texas, in 2003, the company began its out-of-state expansion in 2018. With this third Georgia location, Buc-ee's continues to cement its reputation for clean restrooms, an expansive snacking selection, and twenty-four hour service that has endeared them to the road-weary traveler.
Details regarding the ground-breaking date were confirmed by a news release consulted by Atlanta News First. On Monday, Jan. 29, leaders at local, state, and federal levels will come together to celebrate the Buc-ee's beginning in Brunswick, marking another chapter in the brand's ever-expanding story.
