Java junkies in Arizona are in for a treat as Better Buzz Coffee, the California-based coffee hotspot, is set to open multiple locations in the Grand Canyon State. Phoenix will be the first city to welcome the buzz with a new shop opening in February at 717 E. Glendale Ave. After Phoenix, the buzz spreads as more storefronts are primed to pop up throughout the Valley.
In a strategic move that covers multiple bases in the state, the city of Surprise has confirmed that Better Buzz Coffee is part of a lineup of tenants that are currently under construction and slated to open soon at 'Elm Street' in Surprise City Center—details can be found here. Additionally, real estate developer Vestar disclosed that Better Buzz Coffee is one of several businesses gearing up to occupy spaces in "The Vineyard Towne Center," an initial phase of development located at 37666 N. Gantzel Rd., further details on the mixed-use venue are available here.
But that's not all for the coffee chain's Arizona ambitions. Gilbert is also on the map for Better Buzz Coffee's expansion as it joins an upcoming 35-acre mixed-use development known as The Gilmore, at Val Vista and Germann. Other tenants set to debut in this project include Over Easy and Nook Kitchen, as reported by Gilbert Now. This development is a Thompson Thrift project, with a groundbreaking that took place in April 2023 and an expected completion timeframe of 12-14 months for the non-residential component.
The expanding coffee brand ensures that coffee connoisseurs in the Phoenix area will have ample access to their brew, with another local competitor, Dutch Bros Coffee, already in the vicinity. "As Gilbert’s path of growth has extended south in recent years, there is strong demand from residents to have elevated shopping and dining options near where they work and live," Thompson Thrift Commercial managing partner Ashlee Boyd mentioned last year, as noted by Gilbert Now. With a foothold now being established in multiple Arizona communities, it seems the San Diego coffee shop's Western expanse will be giving locals and visitors alike a new place to catch a caffeine fix next year.
