Calumet Ave. commenced around 6 a.m., and although the cause of the blaze has yet to be determined, all inhabitants managed to escape unscathed.
Firefighters received the call and arrived swiftly, the smoke and embers clawing at the break of dawn as they fought against the fire that threatened the structure and safety of the city's own—but the Chicago Fire Department's alertness and rapid response ensured that the flames were contained. The CFD Media's post confirmed that a Still and Box Alarm was struck out once firefighters subdued the fire, verifying that there were no injuries and consequently, no residents displaced as a result of the incident, with all occupants self-evacuated before the arrival of emergency services.
