Love is in the chilly Chicago air as Angelica Rodriguez and Alfonso Arroyo kicked off 2024 with wedding bells, becoming the first couple in Cook County to be granted a marriage license this year. After winning the license through a drawing, the couple said their "I dos" on Tuesday, as reported by CBS Chicago.
The County Clerk's office hosted their charming ceremony, and coupled with the license, the newlyweds scored a bonanza of gifts, which were generously showered on them by local businesses. Eager to start their journey together, Rodriguez and Arroyo, took home prizes ranging from a gourmet dinner box including filet mignon to dance lessons that, forgetting they were meant for the couple, will surely add some sizzle to their post-nuptial celebration, according to FOX 32 Chicago.
The lovebirds were also the lucky recipients of a sparkling wine basket from Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurant, a decadent Eli's Cheesecake gift card, and the unique offering of a cooking lesson courtesy of The Chopping Block. Alongside these, LaSalle Flower Group is going to make sure the couple has beautiful wedding flower arrangements, and their laughter will be taken care of with tickets from the Laugh Factory Chicago.
Taking place today, January 2, the wedding did not only mark the union of Rodriguez and Arroyo but also the commencement of official business days in Cook County for the new year.
