
A 51-year-old man faces a felony charge after a vehicular hijacking incident in Chicago. Kendall Johnson, from the 1700 block of E. 68th St., Chicago, was nabbed by Chicago Police Department officers on January 29th, police claim.
Johnson was taken into custody around 7:37 p.m. on the 1500 block of E. 65th St, after he was identified as the man who commandeered a vehicle, firearm implied, from a 40-year-old man earlier on the 6800 block of S. Stony Island Ave, stated Chicago Police. The sinister hijacking transpired within the vicinity of the 3rd District.
Charged with one count of aggravated vehicular hijacking with a weapon, the accused had a detention hearing slated at 2600 S. California on January 31st. Police disclosed that Johnson allegedly indicated he was armed during the theft, adding another layer of gravity to the vehicular hijacking charges he now faces.
Few details have emerged regarding the aftermath of the arrest or the well-being of the hijacked vehicle's owner. Following his arrest, Johnson was charged accordingly, according to a statement released by the Chicago Police Department. They have yet to release, any further information at this time.
