A bizarre incident at a New Hampshire supermarket has police scratching their heads after a person was reportedly attacked with a watermelon. The Tilton Police Department confirmed they were called to the Market Basket on Market Street just after 6 p.m. on Thursday, where they found a customer hit by the oversized fruit.

According to NBC10 Boston, the victim was quickly transported to the hospital to be treated for what's been described as non-life-threatening injuries. The police are still trying to piece together what led to the unexpected assault.

No arrests have been made following the watermelon attack, and the incident remains under active investigation. WPRI reported a similar account, stating that the supermarket assault involved no other weapons than the watermelon itself.

Details surrounding the motives and whether any words were exchanged before the incident are still unclear. Market Basket officials have yet to release any additional information regarding the altercation. To date, said Tilton police, no one has been charged at this time, according to a statement obtained by WMUR.
