
In a fatal incident on San Antonio's Northwest Side, a male driver died early this morning after his pickup truck collided with a construction crane on Loop 1604, striking the obstacle with such force that it ripped the roof from his vehicle, law enforcement officials report.
According to KSAT, the crash occurred around 1:45 a.m., the driver had maneuvered the truck around an off-duty officer's vehicle that was set up to block traffic for construction before crashing into the crane, the police haven't released the name of the man and the investigation into why the man bypassed the officer's vehicle is still unclear.
Emergency units, including the San Antonio Police Department, Fire Department, and EMS, all responded to the catastrophic scene where the driver was pronounced dead, as confirmed by both KSAT and KENS 5.
