The family of Michael Wills, a city worker who perished in a tragic incident at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, is taking legal action against Menzies Aviation, alleging the company's negligence led to his death. Wills met his untimely demise after being struck by a fuel truck on the tarmac, pinned against another vehicle, and dying about half an hour later on October 31.  Kimberly Wills, representing her late father's estate, has initiated the lawsuit, claiming that the employee was inappropriately positioning the vehicle in a perilous zone, ultimately leading to the fatal collision, as per CBS Austin.

The truck driver, identified as Michael Bowers, Jr., was acting within the scope of his employment when the crash occurred, and screaming in agony, Wills succumbed to his injuries on the scene. Kimberly Wills is seeking $100 million in actual and punitive damages, claiming that her father's death was entirely preventable, according to FOX 7 Austin.

This is not the first time that Austin-Bergstrom International Airport has been the backdrop for a fatal event involving airport personnel. Earlier last year, in April, another mishap saw the death of an American Airlines employee after a collision with a jet bridge outside a passenger gate, reported by CBS Austin.
