In the early hours of Thursday, a savvy Glendale resident's quick call to police led to the arrest of five males for attempted burglary. According to official reports, the alert citizen spotted three individuals acting suspiciously around a neighbor's car on a street just south of Interstate 5 around 3:30 a.m.
The Glendale Police Department responded swiftly to the call, although the suspects managed to flee the scene before the officers' arrival. An initial examination revealed a smashed car window, with the intent seemingly to quickly access the victim's home using the garage door opener found within the vehicle. Continuously searching, the police were soon to apprehend a vehicle carrying the group of five males.
Following a field show-up, the five suspects were positively identified and subsequently arrested on burglary charges. It remains unclear if any of the five had prior criminal records or what prompted the burglary attempt.
