In the wee hours of the morning, a routine traffic stop turned high-speed chase ended with a juvenile apprehended and a stolen car recovered by Harris County constables. Deputy Williams, part of Constable Mark Herman's team, attempted to pull over a vehicle at around 2:55 a.m. in the 13200 block of Jones Road, only to have the young driver allegedly attempt to recklessly elude capture, according to a report from Precinct 4's official Facebook page.
The pursuit came to a crashing halt when the driver, a mere 14-year-old male, lost control and wrecked the vehicle. The minor, whose identity has not been disclosed due to his age, fortunately sustained only minor injuries in the ordeal and was transported swiftly to a local hospital for treatment.
"He was charged with Evading in a Motor Vehicle and Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle and later released to his mother," disclosed the statement from Precinct 4's Facebook page. The incident has highlighted ongoing concerns regarding juvenile delinquency and motor vehicle thefts in the area.
In response to the night's events, authorities are issuing reminders for vehicle owners to remain vigilant and to take necessary precautions to safeguard their automobiles against theft.
