Two suspects are behind bars following a high-risk traffic stop by Hercules Police officers, who recognized their vehicle as one involved in a recent armed robbery. On January 22, around 2:20 P.M., authorities spotted a 2006 gray and red Dodge Charger linked to a robbery in a neighboring city, leading to swift action on Appian Way and Mann Dr.
Both the driver, hailing from Baypoint, and the passenger, from San Pablo, were quickly detained. The driver was found to be on probation for the felony offense of possessing a firearm. This event unfolded rapidly, with officers promptly initiating a search of the vehicle based on the suspect's probation status, uncovering two firearms that added a severe layer of danger to the incident.
According to the Hercules Police Department's Facebook page, a more extensive search of the Charger led to the discovery of a black Ruger pistol and a revolver without a serial number, known as a Ghost-Switch-GNU revolver. Further adding to the offenses, the Ruger was confirmed stolen property from Utah.
The law's net drew even tighter when police officers uncovered narcotics in the form of suspected crack alongside drug paraphernalia. The vehicle's discovery turned the tables on the suspects, who were earlier suspected only of a violent snatch and grab. Now, drug charges were to be included to uphold further the sanction against the lawlessness that had spilled over from their apparent robbery escapade.
Following these discoveries, both individuals were arrested and booked into jail, facing the weight of their choices in the cold, hard syntax of the criminal justice system.
