The under-the-sea screen siren and part of singing sister sensation Chloe x Halle, Halle Bailey, just turned into a mom. The "Little Mermaid" star unveiled her newest role via Instagram on Saturday, revealing the birth of her first child, a boy, with her boyfriend, hip-hop artist DDG. In a heartwarming post, the 23-year-old shared a snap of her newborn's hand, adorned with a bracelet spelling out "Halo." "Even though we’re a few days into the new year, the greatest thing that 2023 could have done for me, was bring me my son. Welcome to the world my Halo," Bailey wrote.
Known for keeping her personal life out of the limelight, Bailey managed to steer clear of public confirmation or denial of her pregnancy, despite rampant speculation fueled by her wardrobe choices and, oddly enough, alleged changes in her nose. According to FOX 5 Atlanta, the Georgia-born actress had a way with words for the rumor mill, asking people to "leave me the [sic] alone!" throughout her under-wraps pregnancy.
DDG, who shares the elation over their son, also posted the same heartwarming image on his social media and even added some fatherly love to the celebration. "My biggest blessing by far son son ... never been so in love baby halo," DDG said. The couple has been connected since early last year, making it Instagram official on DDG's birthday in March 2022.
As for the world's latest addition, Bailey joyfully signifies the tiny tot's arrival with a bold proclamation. "Welcome to the world my halo," Bailey continued. "The world is desperate to know you."
