In a heartwarming gesture of community support, the Maple Grove Police Association has dug deep into its pockets for a cause that hits close to many homes. The association recently donated $2,069 to Love Conquers Violence, a nonprofit dedicated to the mission of preventing and ending domestic violence. The funds were raised through the association's initiative during Domestic Violence Awareness Month, dubbed the Purple Patch Initiative.
The charitable push didn't go solo, as local businesses Daily Dose Café and Espresso, and Kingdom Coffee chipped in. These partners sold purple patch mugs at their locations, with a portion of the sales contributing to the police association's effort. The collaboration was meant not just to raise funds but to amplify the message - that domestic violence has no place in our society.
Acknowledging the backing of their community, the Maple Grove Police shared their gratitude in a social media post. "Thank you to the community members who supported our Purple Patch Initiative!" they expressed. The message radiated a sense of unity and solidarity with victims and survivors of domestic violence.
The contribution underscores a commitment by the police force to stand against the scourge of domestic violence. With October being the designated month for raising awareness, the Purple Patch Initiative shines as one of the more colorful, and impactful efforts, the Maple Grove Police Association has shown great leadership, in stepping beyond their call of duty. By marshaling local businesses and residents into the fold, the police association reinforces the idea that it takes an entire community to make a stand and make a difference.
