The new year has brought a stroke of luck to a slew of Massachusetts residents as the Massachusetts State Lottery announced the first $1 million prize winner of 2024. The million-dollar ticket, alongside other high-value prizes, was revealed during a live stream on the stroke of the New Year.
With the winning number 0083128, this major win has set one Massachusetts ticket holder up for a prosperous 2024. The lucky ticket was purchased at American Legion Morrisette Post 294 in Quincy, NBC Boston reported. The American Legion will reap their own rewards as well, banking a crisp $10,000 bonus for selling that winning ticket.
Four other lucky players will be pocketing $250,000 each, and another six will be walking away with $25,000 apiece.
According to a report by Boston 25 News, the raffle also included 11 weekly drawings for $20,000 prizes. The last of these weekly winners was selected on December 29 with the winning ticket being sold at the Mobil on Elm Street in Braintree.
