A Miami-Dade Corrections and Rehabilitation Center worker is behind bars, facing allegations of sexually assaulting a female inmate, who was working in the facility's kitchen, law enforcement officials said. Johny Jovin, a 46-year-old kitchen employee at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, was arrested on a charge of sexual battery by an authority figure subsequent to the Dec. 31 incident.
According to authorities, the victim was instructed by Jovin to enter a walk-in refrigerator to help him there he grabbed her by the waist, kissed her lips, and then proceeded to slide his hand into her pants, touching her buttocks, despite her attempts to push him away. In her efforts to escape the situation, the woman left the refrigerator but was followed by Jovin into a second fridge, where he is accused of digitally penetrating her against her will this was outlined in the arrest report obtained by NBC Miami.
Jovin, who appeared in Miami-Dade County court on Monday, was taken into custody by detectives at the Miami-Dade Police Department's headquarters in Doral, as stated by Local 10 News.
