South Florida is also under a Marginal Risk for excessive rainfall Monday, meaning fast-moving downpours could create localized flooding in urban neighborhoods and poor-drainage areas. New rainfall amounts around Miami are generally expected to stay between a tenth and a quarter of an inch, though isolated spots could see more.
Afternoon Storms Become The Main Event
Monday morning should offer mostly sunny breaks, with rain chances staying in the teens through midday. Odds rise to about 40% by midafternoon and remain elevated into the evening, when the city could see sudden downpours and lightning-heavy storms.
The wet pattern now stretches well beyond Monday, with storm chances rising to 60% Tuesday and Wednesday, 80% Thursday, and about 70% Friday and Saturday. The latest outlook adds detail to the stormy stretch Hoodline reported Sunday, keeping showers and thunderstorms in play through Sunday.

Highs should remain in the upper 80s through the weekend, while overnight lows hover around 81 to 83 degrees along the coast. East to southeast winds will run roughly 5 to 8 mph Monday, strengthening to around 13 to 14 mph by Wednesday and Thursday.
Beach, boating and outdoor plans should include a backup location, especially during the afternoon and evening. Atlantic and Gulf seas are expected to remain at 2 feet or less through midweek, but thunderstorms can still bring abrupt wind shifts, lightning and briefly rougher conditions.

No watches, warnings or advisories are posted for Miami at this time, but that does not make the storms harmless. Residents should head indoors when thunder is heard, avoid flooded roadways and allow extra time for travel if a downpour moves over the city.
