
The final moments of 2023 brought tragedy to Greenacres, Fla., where a hit-and-run driver struck and killed a 91-year-old woman on New Year's Eve. The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office has been on the hunt for the individual behind the wheel since the incident, which unfolded at approximately 9:15 p.m. near the intersection of Walker Avenue and 10th Avenue North.
The victim, identified as Illodia Iphadael of Lake Worth Beach, was crossing 10th Avenue North when she was hit by what has been described as a white Nissan Murano or a vehicle similar, possibly being a newer model. Following the collision, the driver fled the scene eastbound, as reported by WPTV.
Investigators are gathering details and have put out a call for information that could lead to the identification and capture of the suspect. According to WPBF, the vehicle involved in this heartless act swerved into the left turn lane, colliding with Iphadael, who walked into the vehicle's path before accelerating away into the night.
