In an unusual turn of events, a two-year-old Weimaraner mix found herself snugly trapped inside the guts of a 1967 Chevy Nova. The dog, who was later given the name "Nova" in a nod to her peculiar hideaway, was chasing a cat when she squeezed into an incredibly tight space within the car's engine bay, reported 12 News.
The canine escapade took place near 67th Avenue and Camelback Road in Phoenix, where Nova found herself in an automotive pickle. Responding to the scene on January 19, two emergency animal rescue technicians from the Arizona Humane Society freed Nova, who sustained only minor injuries from her unexpected adventure. A dog Nova's age could be adopted for $49, as detailed by the society's adoption program, KYMA reported.
The Humane Society has since announced that Nova is ready to be placed into a forever home, following treatment for her minor wounds. The 49-pound pooch's ordeal might have ended on a high note, but the circumstances of her entrapment remain a bizarre chapter in her life — one that potential adopters are sure to recount for years. For those interested in taking Nova home, information on pet adoption is readily available from the society.
