The search for missing Indiana woman Ciera Locklair Breland, who vanished in 2022, has hit a new snag with the disappearance of her husband, Xavier Valencio Breland, who has failed to appear in court for unrelated charges. Xavier, who was named as a person of interest in his wife's disappearance, was due in a Hamilton County, Indiana, court on Dec. 28, 2023, but now his whereabouts are unknown, according to Atlanta News First.

Having reported Ciera missing on late February 2022 after visiting family in Johns Creek, Georgia, Xavier is now wanted on a "failure to appear" warrant in Indiana. Despite being implicated by circumstances around his wife's disappearance, he faces a separate charge of unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon from an incident on Feb. 28, 2022, which has been detailed by Atlanta News First.

Fox News Digital reported that the couple had traveled from Indiana to Georgia in mid-February 2022, but the FBI found no evidence that Ciera ever returned to Indiana with Xavier. The last sighting of Ciera was at 7:17 p.m. on Feb. 24, 2022, captured by a surveillance camera outside her mother-in-law's home in Georgia. Shortly after, Xavier would report her missing from their home in Carmel. Since then, Ciera's mother, Kelly Locklair, in an interview with Fox News Digital, has expressed her belief that her daughter, who was "scared" of Xavier, is deceased and possibly somewhere between Georgia and Indiana.

Xavier's legal counsel has yet to comment on his current failure to appear in court. His trial, which has been rescheduled multiple times since June 2023, further complicates the investigation. Xavier is described as a Black man, standing 6 feet tall and weighing 160 pounds, with brown hair and green eyes, as stated in his warrant. Despite the setbacks, law enforcement continues the manhunt, and there is a standing $10,000 reward for information leading to resolution in the case. Anyone with details is urged to contact local authorities or the FBI.
