San Diego commuters still feel the aftershocks of Monday's tempest as the San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) scrambles to recover services. According to a press release from MTS, the storm has wreaked significant havoc on public transit, forcing changes, particularly to the Trolley services.

On the Orange Line, service is currently only available from the 12th & Imperial Transit Center to the Euclid Transit Center, a snag for those needing to reach the downtown Courthouse Station. The Blue Line offers a makeshift solution with service at America Plaza and 12th & Imperial. Further east, buses are bridging the gap between Euclid and Lemon Grove Transit Center, as that section of tracks remains out of service, too, due to storm damage. Passengers looking to push on to Arnele will find the line back in operation.

The Green Line is back but not without wrinkles; it's operational from 12th & Imperial Transit Center to the Santee Station, though riders are warned to brace for delays. The UC San Diego Blue Line tells a similar tale, servicing its full span from San Ysidro Transit Center to UTC, but with the caveat of expected lag times. Though following a full schedule, buses are being detoured where the roads still wear the scars of the storm.

Meanwhile, FOX 5 reports real-time challenges at the Euclid Avenue Transit Center, where bus shuttles are subbing in for the Orange Line segment to Lemon Grove Depot. "Today I had to catch a ‘Lift’ over here to Euclid. It’s just been so uncertain the last couple of days, I have to get to work early in the morning, so I want to be reliable," a local rider told FOX 5. Adding to the woes is a section near 65th and Imperial Avenue in Encanto — closed indefinitely as crews work tirelessly facing off against a mile's worth of mangled tracks and a collapsed retaining wall.
