
A New Year's Eve collision in Cobb County has turned tragic with the loss of an unborn child and the serious injury of four adults. The unfortunate incident occurred on the night of December 31, 2023, at the intersection of Humphries Hill Road and Mill Branch Road when a 2016 Toyota Tacoma, driven by Zachary Williams Scott, 31, collided head-on with a 2023 Toyota 4Runner driven by Alexander Osei Gyasi, 41.
The crash resulted in both vehicles being redirected from their paths, the Tacoma southeast and the 4Runner northwest according to FOX 5 Atlanta, which also reported that apart from Alexander, the 4Runner was carrying Eunice Osei Gyasi, 41, the expectant mother whose unborn child did not survive the aftermath of the collision, dying at Grady Memorial Hospital on January 1, while Alexander and Eunice, both sustained serious injuries in the crash, Sally Williams, 41, who was in the Tacoma with Scott, faced non-life-threatening injuries and all parties were rushed to the Grady Memorial Hospital for immediate treatment.
The Cobb County Police Department Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) Unit has launched an investigation into the circumstances of the collision and is seeking information from witnesses or anyone with knowledge of the incident, as a reminder to the community of the preciousness of life and the rapidity with which it can change as stated by a report from BNN Breaking, which also underscored the tragedy of the unborn child's death and the severity of the injuries to the adults involved.
