Union City has become the latest scene of a high-stakes jewelry heist after a trio of women reportedly breached a home and helped themselves to a collection of valuable jewelry pieces. The Union City Police Department is on the lookout for the suspects following a burglary that occurred on the night of August 8, 2023, as reported by the Department in a press release and a local journalist's post.
In the quiet suburban sprawl of the 200 block of D Street, residents were horrified to learn that security is sometimes but an illusion, no matter the neighborhood's comfort. The homeowner discovered the theft upon their return, with the residence's camera system providing clear footage of the alleged criminals and their vehicle—a Toyota Sienna minivan with license plate #9AHH685.
The authorities have released specific descriptions of the three female suspects, according to a Union City Police Department press release. Suspect 1 is described as a Middle Eastern female, around 40–50 years of age, with a heavy build, donning a blue/red dress and a red purse. Suspect 2 matches the age range and ethnicity but with a thin build, seen wearing a blue shirt, black dress, and sunglasses. The third suspect is described as a Middle Eastern female in her 50s to 60s, wearing a tan jacket with a blue scarf wrapping her head and neck.
A male figure of Middle Eastern descent was also caught on film near the suspect vehicle, but specifics of his identity remain out of reach. This case is active, and Union City Police Detectives are imploring the public for any details regarding the identification and whereabouts of these individuals. Detective Smith can be directly contacted at 510-675-5268, or anonymous tips can be sent to line 510-675-5207 or via email to [email protected], as noted in the press release. In a post from @henrykleeKTVU, the vehicle involved in the incident is urged for the public to recognize.
