An attempted murder suspect from Massachusetts was caught in Thompson, Connecticut on Saturday after a police pursuit that spanned state lines, Connecticut State Police confirmed. The fugitive, whose name has not been released, was wanted on a nationwide extraditable warrant for assault with the intent to commit murder and various firearm charges.
Police said the suspect had managed to elude capture, initially, by leading law enforcement on a high-speed chase from Webster, Massachusetts. According to WWLP, the individual was driving a stolen car, which they subsequently crashed around 5:30 p.m. at Exit 53 of Interstate 395 in Thompson.
The aftermath of the crash found the suspect attempting to disappear from the scene on foot. With the aid of a police dog, officers were able to track down and apprehend the fleeing suspect, state police reported. The details of their arrest were not extensively detailed.
While the identity of the suspect remains currently under investigation, the charges originate from Worcester, and the individual is set to face the serious legal consequences of their actions.
