Washington's finest joined the 2024 American Correctional Association Conference in DC, where the local Adult Detention Division (ADD) team showcased their operations excellence. Among those representing were Detention Captain Joel Field, Sergeant Josh Fulwider, and Deputies John Mastley & Cass Magnuson, who took to the panel hearing before four ACA Commissioners to discuss their work at the Adult Detention Facility.

The gathering marked a pivotal milestone in the accreditation process, with the Adult Detention Division highlighting the successes of an ACA Audit conducted back in June 2023. "Panel members expressed how impressed they are with our ability to operate a professional and clean facility," the team mentioned on X.
Notably, the ADD's HOPE Program garnered particular attention, receiving commendation for the unique opportunities it provides to individuals within the correctional facility. The ACA Commissioners deliberated on the audit results, praising the facility for meeting 100% of the mandatory standards set forth. The outcome was a unanimous vote in favor of re-accreditation, culminating in the presentation of the ACA Accreditation certificate to the ADD team.
Celebrating this achievement, the Hennepin Sheriff's X feed announced, "This was a fantastic effort by our Standards and Compliance team and the culmination of a successful audit in which we achieved the highest-ever score." The hard work and professionalism of all staff members at the ADD were duly recognized for their contribution toward this significant accreditation success.
