A 29-year-old man was killed following a verbal altercation on Friday around 8:30 p.m. on the 8400 block of South Vincennes Avenue, as reported by the WTTW News. The suspected gunman, who has yet temporarily to be apprehended, instigated a confrontation and fired at the victim before fleeing into a nearby residence. A SWAT team response ensued, but the residence was empty upon their entry, and the search for the shooter continues.
Other fatal shootings included an 18-year-old man, who succumbed to gunshot wounds to his head and face, arriving just after midnight Saturday at Mount Sinai Hospital. The Chicago Sun-Times also detailed an incident where a 28-year-old man was shot multiple times in a drive-by on West 33rd Street Saturday evening. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
On Sunday, a 38-year-old man became another casualty, fatally shot before 6 p.m. in East 67th Street's 1500 block. The following day, a 27-year-old man was also mercilessly gunned down in the early hours on South Shore Drive. In a separate incident just after 3:30 p.m. Monday, a tragic domestic dispute turned deadly when a 33-year-old woman was shot in the head and chest by a 31-year-old man at a commercial business on South Ashland Avenue, police arrested the gunman at the scene.
