A tragic sequence of events in Goodyear, Arizona left one woman dead following a high-speed chase involving a stolen vehicle. Vanessa Flor-Garcia, 35, was ejected and killed after the car, reported stolen out of Phoenix, crashed and rolled over multiple times, as first reported by FOX 10 Phoenix.
The ordeal began near Pebble Creek Parkway and McDowell Road, where police were investigating reports of shoplifting. Shortly after, they spotted the stolen vehicle making a speedy eastbound escape on Indian School Road. According to ABC15, the suspect, Shondale Kyles, 47, of Glendale, ran a red light at Litchfield Road where the fatal crash transpired.
Kyles, attempting to dodge apprehension, fled the scene of the initial crash, and continued his flight by commandeering another vehicle. His bid for freedom was short-lived, however, as he was involved in yet another collision, which thwarted his escape and led to his arrest.
Kyles was hospitalized before being taken into police custody. Now he faces a slew of charges that include manslaughter, DUI, and reckless driving. In the aftermath, Goodyear Fire reported that a child had been injured in the incident. However, police later clarified that no child was harmed.
The tragic events forced the closure of Litchfield and Indian School Roads into the night for investigation purposes. Meanwhile, the community mourns the loss of Vanessa Flor-Garcia, whose life was abruptly ended amid the chaos of theft and flight, as per details provided by ABC15.
