
A tragic mishap unfolded on Houston roads this Tuesday evening, as a 32-year-old woman met her untimely demise following a severe vehicular incident on Westheimer Parkway. The collision, which occurred around 5:30 p.m. at the 15200 block.
As per Houston police, the victim, whose name has yet to be released pending official identification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, was behind the wheel of a blue Nissan Sentra heading east when she inexplicably veered off her lane. In a sudden swerve, her car struck the raised median, propelling the vehicle into the opposing traffic lane and directly into the path of an oncoming silver Ford Fiesta. The impact was inevitable and grievous, as stated in a report by the Houston Police Department obtained by CityofHouston.news.
The driver of the Ford revealed to be a 55-year-old male, survived the encounter but was not without injuries. He received immediate attention and was rushed to a local hospital with harm deemed non-life-threatening. Meanwhile, the woman driving the Nissan Sentra was pronounced dead at the scene.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant F. Briones and Officer K. Stout are spearheading the investigation, which remains active.
