22-Year-Old Man Arrested on Felony Charges in Connection with Laveen Stabbing Death of Tasha YellowhairSource: Google Street View

Tragedy struck in the Laveen community as a 49-year-old woman was fatally stabbed in January, with police now having arrested a 22-year-old man in connection with her murder. Tasha Yellowhair was discovered with a stab wound near 51st Avenue and Baseline Road in the early hours, leading to her death shortly after at a hospital.

Shane Enos, the suspect, was arrested more than three weeks after the incident, on February 13, as reported by FOX 10 Phoenix. Phoenix police had to diligently work to eventually link Enos to the murder of Yellowhair, local sources say. The motive for the crime, however, remains tightly under wraps to quickly reach exact conclusions.

The Phoenix Police Department has remained quiet on what may have led up to this brutal crime. It remains unclear if Yellowhair and Enos knew each other or what events precipitated the deadly encounter.

Enos was booked on several felony charges, including murder, following the investigative lead. "During the investigation that followed, police say that homicide detectives were able to link Enos to Yellowhair’s murder," according to  AZ Family.

Further details about the incident and any additional charges pending will likely emerge as the judicial process unfolds.
