Apple Valley Community Center Unveils Spring Break Extravaganza with Activities for All AgesSource: Google Street View

Spring has sprung, and with it comes a slew of activities to keep Apple Valley's locals hopping. The Apple Valley Community Center (AVCC) is gearing up for an exciting array of spring break events that promise to pack the house with energy and fun. From preschoolers to adults, the line-up of open gyms and special bonus days is ready to cater to every age group and interest starting March 12th.

Families looking to bond over sports have ample opportunity with the Family Open Gym sessions. On weekends of March 23, 24, 30, and 31 from noon to 2 p.m., and weekdays between March 25 and 29 from 12 p.m. to 5:45 p.m., these sessions are open and free, as long as kids are accompanied by a supervising adult. The same goes for the Youth Open Gym, which is available for kids from grade 6 to 12 on the same weekends and weekdays, though the weekday fun wraps up a bit earlier at 4:30 p.m. Parents simply need to obtain a yearly admission card for their teens, according to details posted on the City of Apple Valley's website.

For the tiniest tots in town, the AVCC hasn't forgotten the preschool crowd. Parents can bring their little ones to the center from Monday to Friday, March 25 to 29, between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. A modest $3 fee gets the kiddo in, or parents can opt for the $15 annual admission for ongoing fun.

Adult volleyball enthusiasts can spike and serve their way through the end of March with dedicated courts for women's and co-rec games. Women's and reverse bonus days are set for Tuesdays, March 12, 19, and 26, and Thursdays March 21 and 28 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., where men can join but with certain restrictions. Co-rec games, where the net is set at men's or co-rec height, are scheduled for Wednesdays and Fridays, March 20 to 29, also from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., and come with a $5 entry fee.

Not to be ignored, the popular sports of pickleball and badminton have also secured spots on the schedule. Pickleball will serve up some competitive fun weekday mornings from March 25th to 29th, and on Tuesdays and Thursdays evenings starting March 12th. Badminton players can make a racket on Tuesdays and Thursdays after 6:30 p.m. starting March 12th, with additional weekend playdates throughout the month. Each session will cost participants $5 at the door.

With an array of activities and schedules to suit nearly every age and interest, the Apple Valley Community Center's spring break offerings are a veritable smorgasbord of recreation. Details of the entire spring break schedule were made available on February 26th, promising an active and engaging end to the winter blues for Apple Valley residents.
