Thieves armed with handguns hit a Millbrae neighborhood during the early hours today, the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office confirms. Around 1:30 a.m., deputies rushed to the 500 block of Capuchino Ave. following reports of an armed robbery outside a residence.

The duo of assailants, after accosting an unsuspecting victim outside their home, reportedly made off with personal belongings and fled the scene. The victim faced no physical harm during the crime. According to the Sheriff's Office, the suspects escaped in a gray Honda Accord toward El Camino Real.

Sheriff's detectives treat the robbery as an isolated incident and have launched a full-scale investigation. They canvass the area for possible leads and appeal to the public for assistance.
