A pedestrian was left with life-threatening injuries after being struck by a fire truck in Boston's Dorchester neighborhood, as authorities reported today.
The incident which took place just before 12:30 p.m. at the corner of Bowdoin Street and Geneva Avenue resulted in the victim being rushed to the hospital, their identity remains undisclosed as NBC Boston and Boston 25 News laid out the preliminary details in their coverage.
Witnesses at the scene captured footage of the accident area cordoned off with yellow crime scene tape as the Boston Police Auto Investigations Unit worked to gather evidence, the fire truck of interest positioned squarely within the taped-off section it remains unknown whether the emergency vehicle was en route to a call when the collision occurred.
As the investigation progresses, the cause of the collision is still being determined, thereby Boston 25 News has made attempts to get a comment from the fire department, whereas the Suffolk District Attorney's Office said they are also lending their efforts to the investigation examining every aspect of the incident in question.
