A Bremen man, aged 62, is behind bars following accusations of elder abuse and theft, as confirmed by the Haralson County Sheriff's Office. Kenneth Wayne Kimball has been slammed with charges including exploitation of an elder person, identity theft, and financial transaction card fraud after a family member's complaint sparked an investigation.
The inquiry, which started in September of last year, has to unravel a purported scheme where the victim's credit cards were allegedly used to make unauthorized transactions. According to FOX 5 Atlanta, the suspect engaged in opening credit lines and shopping sans the consent of the power of attorney for the victim. The family’s diligence to carefully gather substantial proof was pivotal in shedding light on the case.
Haralson County Sheriff Stacy Williams lauded the family's initiative, stating, "The family’s willingness to carefully collect so much documentation is the real difference in this case."
