A Chicago man is facing three felony counts after being accused of a stabbing that took place last September. According to the Chicago Police Department's charge release, 29-year-old Enrique Hairo of the 4800 block of W. Thomas St., was arrested and charged with one count each of aggravated battery using a deadly weapon, aggravated battery causing great bodily harm, and aggravated battery in a public place.
The authorities had been to successfully track down and arrest Hairo on February 9, 2024, near the 1900 block of N. Cicero Ave., the police release stated. The charges stemmed from an incident that occurred in the early hours of September 30, 2023, where a 25-year-old male was stabbed in the 4100 block of W. Wilcox St. Hairo was identified as the assailant in what remains a vivid example of the violence that grips at parts of the city's heart.
Following the arrest, Hairo appeared for a detention hearing at the 2600 S. California courthouse on February 10. Further details surrounding the case remain sparse, as police have not released additional information regarding the circumstance of the stabbing, or the condition of the victim.
