Chicago streets once again became the scene of armed confrontation leading to the arrest of 19-year-old Devon Brown. Yesterday, members of the Chicago Police Department nabbed the youngster, who now faces serious criminal charges, according to the police department's press release.
Confronted in the 500 block of S. Kedzie Ave., Brown was not just another face in the crowd. He matched the description of an armed individual prompting a police stop, which ultimately revealed him loaded with not just one, but multiple firearms and suspected drugs. Hailing from the 500 block of W. North Ave. in Chicago, Brown is now slapped with three felony counts of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon by a person under 21 and two felony counts of narcotics possession.
The scene unfolded on February 6, less than a day before Brown's scheduled detention hearing. He stands accused of bearing weapons in a reckless stand against the calm of the community, with an additional charge of armed violence punctuating the seriousness of his alleged enmity towards order. The hearing will be held at the courthouse located at 2600 S. California.
