
A man was fatally shot in the head late Thursday night inside a Subway restaurant in Chicago's West Chatham neighborhood. The Chicago Police Department is now on the hunt for the assailant who decided to quickly flee on foot after the incident, which occurred around 11:40 p.m. at the location on the first block of West 79th Street, as reported by the Chicago Tribune.
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the police found the victim deceased at the scene, following their response to the 24-hour Subway restaurant located at 53 W. 79th St. The male victim, yet to be identified publicly, was described to be suffering from a lethal gunshot wound. As the police arrived, no medical efforts could sway the tide; the man was dead upon their entry.
Details are currently scarce as detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
