A woman has been accused of the violent robbery and attack of a 30-year-old female in Chicago, law enforcement officials said Wednesday. Shyane Greyer, 28, of Country Club Hills, Illinois, faces charges including one felony count of robbery and one felony count of aggravated battery causing great bodily harm, the Chicago Police Department revealed.
According to the department's statement, Greyer was cornered and placed under arrest on February 12, 2024, on E. 111th St. Officials claim she was identified as the assaulter in an incident the day before, where at around 6:00 p.m., a woman had her property forcibly taken from her and endured bodily harm on W. 59th St., located in the city's 7th District.
Greyer's detention hearing is scheduled for today at the courthouse at 2600 S. California. The circumstances leading to her identification and arrest by Chicago Police are still under wraps; no further details about how Greyer was connected to the crime have been released beyond the initial accusation.
