A Daly City man was arrested last week after threatening to unleash violence in a Pacifica neighborhood, brandishing a large blade during a brawl, cops said. The dust-up occurred around 9 a.m. on February 2, when Pacifica Police Department officers were summoned to the 1000 block of Palmetto Avenue for a report of a fight with one man threatening to "shoot someone."
Arriving at the scene, the officers found Diogo Chaboudetkauf, 39, pinned down by two samaritans after he reportedly attempted to escalate the fight. According to a statement from the police department, without further incident, Chaboudetkauf was quickly secured by officers.
The investigation revealed that Chaboudetkauf, with intent, had come to Pacifica to confront an individual over a personal matter. He allegedly threatened to shoot the victim during the quarrel and made moves to access an item from his car, suspected to be a weapon.
Witnesses intervened after they saw Chaboudetkauf go for the trunk of his vehicle and attempt to pull out a 27-inch fixed blade weapon. While Chaboudetkauf was held down by the witnesses, a third person took control of the blade and dialed 9-1-1. He was arrested and hit with multiple charges, including criminal threats and exhibiting a deadly weapon, and destruction of a communication device, as he booked into San Mateo County Jail.
The Pacifica Police Department is now calling for additional witnesses to step forward with more information on the havoc-wreaking confrontation. Anyone with insights into the violent incident is urged to contact the police at 650-738-7314 or use the Silent Witness Tip Line at 650-359-4444, referring to case number 24-0263.
