The incident began around 3:20 p.m. when medics were called to the popular hiking spot for what rapidly escalated into a high-angle rescue mission. The lone adult victim had been declared a trauma alert, as per Austin-Travis County EMS.
This was no ordinary rescue; what began on the solid ground turned into an aerial extraction as the STAR Flight chopper arrived on the scene.
