
A tragic blaze claimed the life of a 76-year-old woman early Sunday morning in Monroe County, Michigan. Officials from the Monroe County Sheriff's Office were alerted to the deadly inferno at the Northtowne Meadows Mobile Home Park located on Telegraph near Alexis Rd., near the Michigan-Ohio border, according to WWJ Newsradio 950. Firefighters and first responders who arrived at the scene were confronted with a structure engulfed in flames around 6:15 a.m., and after braving the fire, discovered the body of Constance Marie Hites pronounced dead at the scene.
The Monroe County Fire Investigation Team has been meticulously combing through the charred remains of the mobile home in an attempt to unravel the cause of the fire the investigation is still ongoing at this time, and authorities have yet to determine the origins of the fire, as was reported by FOX 2 Detroit. In the wake of the tragedy, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office along with Bedford Township Fire Department and Monroe Community Ambulance all responded promptly to the harrowing call.
