JetBlue is making moves to quickly expand its European footprint, setting the stage for nonstop flights from Boston to Dublin starting next month, and Paris the following month. The up-and-coming flights will offer travelers additional direct routes to some of Europe's most iconic cities without the hassle of layovers. According to an announcement on JetBlue's official website, tickets are already on sale for these new transatlantic journeys.

The airline's ambition to grow its international presence has been evident since they launched flights to London from their Boston and New York hubs in 2022. Their transatlantic venture expanded to include Amsterdam in 2023, and now Dublin and Paris are set to join the ranks. However, the Boston-based company is also dealing with the challenge to make sure expand its fleet through a merger with Spirit Airlines—a move currently under dispute in the courts. The Boston Globe detailed the airline's current hurdle, facing an appeal after a judge's decision that blocked the anticipated merger.

Despite this, JetBlue continues its course, although some turbulence surfaces on the horizon with reports of seven of its Airbus aircraft grounded for engine inspections due to issues with Pratt & Whitney's manufacturing. The airline, during its recent investor call, warned the number of affected planes might increase to 15 by year's end. This presents a potential snag that could affect the airline’s performance and expansion plans in the near future.

The inaugural nonstop flight from Boston to Dublin is set to take off on March 13, paving the way for a more connected globe. Starting April 3, the flights to Paris will commence, furthering JetBlue’s commitment, born in 2000, as a global and customer-focused airline.
