The Colma Police Department reported that on Friday, February 2nd, at approximately 6:59 pm, officers were dispatched to a business on the unit block of Colma Boulevard, where an alleged repeat offender was spotted. In a post shared on their official Facebook page, the department detailed how the suspect, identified as Vincent Herron, a 53-year-old Hayward resident, was observed by the business's loss prevention officer.
According to the authorities, Herron was not a stranger to the law, having committed multiple grand thefts across San Mateo County, including a theft at the same business in February 2023, where he successfully pilfered merchandise valued at approximately $1,576. Officers strategically waited to apprehend the suspect as he made to exit the venue. A records check swiftly verified that Herron had a standing out-of-county, $10,000 felony warrant for his arrest.
Upon his exit, Herron was approached, detained without incident, and arrested. The Colma Police Department's statement highlighted that Herron faced charges of grand theft, burglary, and his previous felony warrant. Following these charges, he was booked into the San Mateo County Jail.
