La Jolla to Welcome Roseacre, A Trendsetting Dining Oasis Crafted by Design Icons Basile and WilsonSource: Google Street View

La Jolla's dining scene is about to get a significant boost as local design mavens Paul Basile and Jules Wilson team up to open Roseacre, a stylish two-story dining destination set to transform the former spaces of Adelaide’s on Girard Avenue. Expected to open by late summer this year, Roseacre is the inaugural project by Basile and Wilson's new venture, Basile + Wilson, according to Eater San Diego.

The venture combines the strength of Basile's BASILE Studio, which has been bestowed upon San Diego establishments like Cowboy Star and Raised By Wolves, and Wilson's expertise as principal of Jules Wilson Design Studio. Together, they're plotting to redefine the city's hospitality scene, starting with Roseacre. This concept salutes the legacy of the city's architectural past while promising to serve as a modern gathering spot. "Roseacre" derives its name from the family estate of Frederick Liebhardt, a mentee of Frank Lloyd Wright and architect of Wilson's and Basile's historic La Jolla home, as they revealed during an interview with SanDiegoVille.

Occupying a sizable 5,000-square-foot, the space will feature an open kitchen, custom-designed seating for 171 patrons, and a menu curated by a yet-to-be-announced executive chef. More than just a restaurant, Basile and Wilson are creating a full experience by integrating Holsem Coffee on the ground level and a rooftop Garden Bar boasting live music, small bites, cocktails, and striking views of downtown La Jolla. Upstairs will also house a private dining area for 30 and an intimate 12-seat sushi bar, detailed on the duo’s Instagram.

The team at Basile + Wilson aren't hanging their hats just at Roseacre, though. They're eyeing an expansion beyond the individual restaurant to include potential hotel projects within and around La Jolla. "We are very excited about Roseacre, as an incredible experience for La Jolla and San Diego," Robert Wilson, Basile-Wilson Managing Partner revealed to SanDiegoVille. Their shared ambition is to cultivate a "third place" for the community, a resting spot between the spheres of work and home life, according to their vision.

Roseacre is setting its sights on bringing a new echelon of style and substance to 7766 Girard Avenue, all while honoring the rich architectural heritage of La Jolla.
