Lazy Days Brewing Takes Over Ex Novo's Portland and Beaverton Brewpubs, Preserving Beloved Beers and VibesSource: Lazy Days Brewing

The craft beer scene in Oregon has a new player on the block, with Lazy Days Brewing officially taking the reins of Ex Novo Brewing’s Portland and Beaverton locations. After months of negotiations, the changeover is complete, and the fresh ownership is keen to preserve the easygoing vibe that drew crowds to Ex Novo's establishments. In a move that aims to maintain familiarity, Lazy Days Brewing is ensuring long-time fans their beloved brews won't be disappearing anytime soon. As reported by OregonLive, the transition has been crafted carefully to keep Ex Novo's spirit alive.

While change is afoot, the new team is set to continue brewing several of Ex Novo’s popular beers, such as the Sons of Scotland Scotch ale and Perle Haggard Pilsner, a gold medalist at the 2020 Great American Beer Festival. Detroit-style pizza still remains a staple on the menu, along with other pub favorites. According to PDX Eater, Zane Singleton and Joe Smith, Ex Novo's previous brewers, decided to stay with Lazy Days to support and help create the new brewing operation alongside new co-owner Jake Elder.

In a bid to say goodbye to their predecessor and mark their territory in the brewpub landscape, Lazy Days Brewing hosted a grand opening event filled with beer samples, raffles, and a ceremonial ribbon-cutting. As detailed by Sherwood Gazette, the event not only marked the end of Dry January but also signified the start of a new era for the venues in Portland and Beaverton.

In an industry where customer loyalty is as fermented as the beverages served, Lazy Days Brewing seems committed to ensuring a seamless transition for its patrons. By maintaining key staff and keeping a tight menu, they are crafting an experience aimed to both honor Ex Novo's legacy and carve out its niche. Fans of the original brewery who loved its commitment to craft and community can rest easy knowing the same passion for beer-making will continue under the Lazy Days label.
