Early Saturday morning, a man was left wounded after a drive-by shooting on Chicago's South Side. According to FOX 32 Chicago, a 32-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman found themselves under fire while strolling down the 6500 block of South King Drive around 6:18 a.m. A vehicle, described as white, had its three occupants delivered an unwelcomed barrage of bullets toward them.
The male victim sustained a gunshot wound to the thigh and was subsequently taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center. Listed in good condition, his survival speaks to more than what the surface statistics reveal. The female companion, who was also targeted, refused medical attention at the scene and fortunately was not struck by the flying lead.
