Residents of southwest Miami-Dade are on high alert as police intensify their search for a man suspected of sexually assaulting women in the neighborhood. According to CBS Miami, a recent incident was recorded on a local home security system this past Sunday around 9:30 a.m., where a woman was groped by an unknown man on SW 64th Street and SW 109th Place.
The surveillance video captured the disturbing moment a man approached the woman from behind and inappropriately touched her before she could turn to confront him, at which point, he fled. This occurrence is not isolated,, as multiple women have reported similar encounters while jogging, particularly on Sunday mornings. Miami-Dade Police are considering the possibility that these events are connected and that a serial groper is targeting female joggers in broad daylight.
Victims have urged the community to remain vigilant and cautious when out for their morning exercise routines. Local 10 News has learned that another woman came forward with her experience after the latest attack, which has served to heighten community concerns and fuel the resolve to identify the perpetrator.
The husband of one of the victims expressed his distress and his determination for justice. "I really want to see this person caught," he told CBS Miami. The police are asking anyone with information to come forth as their investigation continues, amidst fears of more women falling victim to such brazen assaults.
