A man was fatally shot in Miami, sparking a police probe into the early morning incident. The shooting occurred just after 3:45 a.m. on the 7000 block of Northwest 15th Avenue, with police arriving at the scene following a ShotSpotter alert, as Local 10 News reported.
Upon their arrival, officers discovered the victim who had sustained gunshot wounds; he was declared dead shortly thereafter, no additional information about the victim or potential suspects has been released by the police at this time, the area remained cordoned off with a mobile command unit present well into the morning.
Coverage from WSVN documented a sizable police presence in the neighborhood where the body was located, with live video footage displaying numerous evidence markers and bullet casings at the crime scene. The discovery was made in front of a local business beside a gruesome pool of blood.
Detectives have since been combing through the scene, including an apartment complex across the street from where the shooting transpired, as they search surrounding areas including an outdoor area typically reserved for card games or domino sessions they also inspected a vehicle that appeared to have been hit by gunfire. Meanwhile, the investigation has caused traffic disruptions on 15th Avenue, and some residents in the vicinity found themselves unable to leave their homes.
