A 19-year-old man has been arrested and charged with several felonies including attempted second-degree murder, after a shooting incident involving a group of juveniles on the Miami Beach boardwalk, authorities said. The event took place yesterday morning, in the vicinity of the Grand Beach Hotel, causing one 14-year-old boy to sustain a gunshot wound to his leg.

According to a report by Local 10, the altercation began when a female associated with the suspect, Bryan Rodriguez of Miami Lakes, gave the victims a disparaging look, described by the victims as a "stank face." The situation quickly escalated as the group exchanged laughs, which were met with profanities from the female, and ultimately gunfire from Rodriguez.

After officers arrived at the scene following a 911 call from one of the victim's friends, a Be on the Lookout (BOLO) was issued. Rodriguez was detained after police conducted a traffic stop on a gray 2015 Infiniti matching the suspected vehicle's description. During the arrest, a live round was found in his left front pocket, and two of the victims identified Rodriguez as the shooter, as detailed by WSVN.

The injured teen was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center for treatment. The exact condition of the victim was not made public, but he was reported to have been shot in the right calf muscle. After his arrest, Rodriguez declined to speak to detectives and requested an attorney. He is presently being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center without bond.
