Minneapolis is in for a mixed bag of weather this week, with temperatures flirting with the 50s but not without the company of rain and wind, Minneapolis residents looking at mostly cloudy skies today, a mild high around 48 degrees, and light winds turning southerly in the afternoon, according to the National Weather Service. Come tonight, the clouds should give way to clearer skies and a cooler low near 29, with that south wind sticking around at 5mph. National Weather Service reports suggest a similar story for Tuesday, more clouds roll in with an expected high of 51 degrees, a south wind making itself known at 5 to 10 mph.
Moving into Tuesday night and Wednesday, you won't be ditching the clouds anytime soon; expect lows in the upper 30s and highs lingering in the low 50s, gusty conditions are on the horizon too, with winds kicking up to the 10 to 30 mph range. Things start to get wet on Wednesday night with a 60 percent chance of rain after midnight, and it doesn't stop there, Thursday's looking soggy with an 80 percent chance of rain and possible rain accumulation between a quarter and a half an inch, the breezes continue to swoop through at around 20 mph, with gusts that could reach 30 mph.
The next few days will see temperatures approach records as warm weather continues. As the weekend approaches, the forecast hints at more precipitation; forecasting a 40 percent chance of rain and possibly snow on Friday, the temperature takes a dip to a high near 39, the winds aren't done yet, a steady west wind at 15 mph could make it feel even chillier. Friday night might bring a slight chance of rain and snow before midnight, with the lows settling around 30, and the weekend doesn't promise much of a reprieve from the clouds, with both Saturday and Sunday looking mostly cloudy, tops out at 36 on Saturday dropping slightly to a high near 35 by Sunday.
