The Mayor's Office for Immigrant Advancement (MOIA) has opened its doors, announcing job opportunities aimed to bolster its outreach within Boston's immigrant communities. The office is looking to fill several key positions, from a Strategic Communications Manager to an Immigrant Youth Organizer, all designed to ensure immigrants have the resources they need to thrive in the city, as per a recent announcement from the city's official website.
The Strategic Communications Manager will be tasked to proactively engage and educate the city's immigrant communities, especially in times when policies are shifting. They'll also be responsible to craft campaigns that highlight the contributions of immigrants in Boston. "They'll help to position the Mayor and MOIA as thought leaders on immigrant and immigration issues in the media," the office's website noted.
Another critical role, the Constituent Services & Community Engagement Coordinator, will serve as a liaison, connecting MOIA to the immigrant population. This position is integral in delivering effective constituent services and fostering partnerships with community-based organizations that assist immigrants.
Addressing the needs of new arrivals, the New Bostonians Community Organizer will work closely with the newest members of the community, "to educate and engage the City of Boston’s newest residents as they learn about the role of local government," as mentioned on the city's website. This organizer will ensure that the voice of these new Bostonians is heard and their issues are swiftly addressed.
Lastly, the Immigrant Youth Organizer position supports the Immigrant Youth Advancement Program which is committed to providing equitable and engaging work experience opportunities for immigrant youth regardless of their immigration status. This role will play a part in scaling up the program's reach to serve a larger number of young people, demonstrating Boston’s dedication to inclusivity.
