The Commission takes charge of addressing state planning requirements and enacting policies set by the Multnomah County Board of Commissioners, as reported by Multnomah County's news release. They play a significant role, in offering recommendations to the Board for amending or scrapping aspects of the Comprehensive Plan, zoning codes, and other regulatory ordinances.
Don't expect this to be a calendar filler; the Commission convenes on the first Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. Most meetings are either happening in cyberspace or at the Multnomah Building at 501 S.E. Hawthorne Blvd., Portland. July and holidays see a break in the schedule. Their work is a commitment to helping steer the future of Multnomah County's land use.
